Tennis Match(Girls)

Sports is essential for overall development of a child. An inter-club Lawn Tennis Match was held on 28th Dec’18 for girls of classes IV-V in the school tennis court. The girls were energetic in their matches and enjoyed a lot. Each club played knock out matches amongst themselves and the winner of each club played matches against club qualifiers. The students were given equal opportunities to perform and the decision was taken unbiased. The winners of the lawn- tennis competition were-

    BaketBall Match

    SGS believes that the students should be given equal opportunities and exposure to all the spheres of development. Sports is given equal preference, for this the students of class IV-V had an inter-club basketball match 28th December 2018 in the basket ball court. Seven boys were selected from each-club in the competition. Students enjoyed a lot and helped develop the spirit of team-work leadership and cooperation. The winners of the competition were-

      Story Writing

      Stories play a vital role in the growth and development of children. It develops imagination and creativity among the students. The students of classes IV-V had a story writing activity in their classes on 28th Dec’18. The students wrote their stories creatively and were engrossed in the task. The students were given interesting topics and each of them wrote their own stories independently. Some of the topics for the story writing included – dog with magic powers, a kid who becomes principal of the school, travelling to the future 300 years from now etc. It was an amazing writing exercise where students wrote their heart out about their school.

        Tux Paint Competition

        On Friday, 28th December, 2018, Tux paint competition was conducted for classes II-III in the computer lab. All the participants were selected from each section and final round was held between the best participants. Class II students had to make scenery and class III students had to make a garden scene. The judges of the competition were Ms Mansha and Ms Sonam. The judging criteria included tools used, color combination, creativity and content. The students made appealing the attractive drawings using tux paint. The winners of the competition were-

          Basket ball Match(Girls)

          For the overall development of the students, SGS children are given equal exposure to sports. For this, an inter-club basketball match was held for the girls of classes IV-V on 21th Dec’18 in the basketball participated from each club. The girls were active and enjoyed their matches.             Cricket Match (Boys)

            At SGS, the students are given exposure to all the spheres of development of the child including the physical agility. An inter-club cricket match was held for the boys of class IV-V on 21th Dec’18 in the school cricket club comprised of 12 members and had a one on one match with the respective opponents. Students enjoyed a lot and the matches were played fairly. They also learnt the spirit of cooperation and team-work. The winners of the match were-

              Christmas Carol Singing

              It’s that time of the year when the weather as well as our surroundings are filled with festivities and everyone is rejoicing, celebrating and commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas Carols singing competition was held as Friday Activity for classes VI-VII in which students formed choir with their clubs and sang beautiful cards, filling the environment with optimism.

                Recycle paper bag into Christmas stocking

                 Christmas stockings are seen during Christmas time. Children hang it on their windows and doors, write a wish, and ask Santa to fulfill it. On 21st Dec 2018 the students of class IV-V made handmade stockings by using paper bags. The students were shown the demonstration and then students followed the instructions and made the stockings. The students decorated it beautifully & displayed it in their respective classes.

                  Christmas Craft Activity

                  Christmas Season is in the air, as everyone awaits Christmas. People decorate homes during this time as a sign of their happiness and merriment. On 21st Dec’2018 students of class III made beautiful Christmas hangings by using sticks, threads and stars. They decorated it by using other decorative items. On the other hand, students of class II made cute reindeers as their Christmas Craft. The students really enjoyed their making.

                    Yearly Round up Quiz

                    To revise & reviewed the happenings during the entire year-the year end quiz was conducted for classes VIII & IX and it was conducted in five rounds using Power Point presentation. The Questionnaire was based on different fields and happenings throughout the year. Students were divided into group and it was a club wise activity. Students were well prepared and prompt in answering.

                      Healthy Winters Workshop

                      “Let us love winter for it is the spring of Genius.”

                      Classes II and III had a workshop on ‘Healthy Winter’, conducted by Ms. Japneet and Ms Deepika. The students were informed about the dos and don’ts of the winter season in the North India. Major responses were given by the students, such as, they should wear warm clothes, have bath with warm water, not drink or eat cold food, have citrus fruits, and many such ways, which are necessary in the season. The students enjoyed the discussions.

                        Know your country

                        “Every Nation has a message to deliver, a mission to fulfill, a destiny to reach. The mission of India is to guide humanity”

                        This activity was organized for two consecutive Fridays as part of Friday Activity. In this activity, students showcased their various skills & dexterity in oratory, dancing, & intellect. Students of class VI & VII prepared presentation based on all states of our country. They dressed up for all states of our country. They dressed up for the region or state that they were showcasing and deliberated about the culture, food, religion etc. Students were divided in some groups & each group was assigned a particular state.

                          Movie on Christmas

                          Christmas is a blessed season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love. The students of class IV & V were shown a Christmas movie by the name “The Star” on 14th December 2018 in the lecture hall. The movie was  a playful retelling of Jesus’ nativity , as seen from the animals’point of view. The students enjoyed the movie and after that the students the movie and after that the students did a worksheet to check their understanding of the movie.

                            Cyber Security Workshop

                            Cyber Security workshop was organized for students of class VIII & IX on Friday. The objective of this workshop was to make students aware about the increasing cyber bullying, cyber crime, cyber hacking. They were also told about how to keep their important documents and passwords protected. They were also informed about different threats online, what should be downloaded which protections to be used while being online & how to be safe & secured.

                              Shram Daan

                              SHRAMDAAN

                              “Together we can change the world”

                              Shramdaan is mahadan. In order to inculcate this value in the present generation, the activity of Shramdaan was organised in Scholars Global School on Friday. The students of class VIII made beautiful showpieces for the helping staff of the school and expressed gratitude for their unfaltering service. They also served the staff with delicacies and gave them gifts too & with this honoured their hardwork.

                                Fun with Science

                                SCIENCE EXHIBITION-MAGIC OF SCIENCE

                                Students of class VI prepared working science models and presented them. Some of the students made Hydro Electricity, Solar Electricity, Volcanoes etc. this is a fun way of learning science & students were extremely delighted to showcase their talent & hardwork. Principal Mam too visited the showcase gallery & applauded the efforts of students.

                                  English Debate Competition

                                  INTERCLUB ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION OF CLASSES IV AND V

                                  Debate is a great device for engaging students and helps students understand essential critical thinking and presentation skills. It is important for students to form opinion, based on the facts given, to make a good analysis. An interclub debate competition was held for students of class IV-V on 7th December 2018. The students who were chosen after the preliminary round spoke well both against and for the topic. The topic of the competition was ‘We should have games period everyday’. The competition was judged by Ms Jyoti Kaushik, who appreciated the students for their content and confidence. The winners of the competition were:-

                                    Tongue Twisters Competition

                                    TONGUE TWISTER COMPETITION FOR CLASS II-III

                                    Tongue Twisters are a fun way to learn something and give a competitive spirit to the students as the students find speaking tongue twisters challenging. Tongue twister competition was organised for classes II-III on 7th December 2018. The prelims were conducted on 29th Nov’18, in all the classes, wherein the students were asked to repeat the tongue twisters ten times. The selected students from each club participated in the final round. The final round consisted of three rounds & each participant were given chance to speak the tongue twister within fifteen seconds. The students participated enthusiastically. The winners were:-
