Workshop on Discover your learning style Grade VI-VII

A learning style is an individual’s approach to learning based on strengths, weaknesses and preferences. Knowing yourself as a learner is important if you want to achieve to the best of your ability. If you know you’re learning style, then you can study smarter, not harder. This is essential to know as, ahead of the examinations. With this vision, a workshop on discovering your learning style was conducted on 16th August’19 in the Lecture Theatre by Ms Madhulika. The Students identified their learning style whether visualistic, auditory & kinesthetic by answering to a set of questions. After identifying their learning style, the students were shown techniques how to memorize and how to prepare effectively which would be beneficial with their learning styles. The workshop was effective and an eye-opener for the students

      Role Play Competition Grade VIII-IX

      To make our students skilled with building confidence, creativity, communication, physical development and problem solving, Friday activity on role-play was conducted for the students of class VIII-IX. Students chose any role/character as per their choice (Syllabus based, personality based). They came well prepared with their dialogues and props and audience could find moral behind every character. The result of the competition is as follows-

        Workshop on Moral Values- A way of life Grade II-III

        Students today are so much into studies and games that somewhere moral teachings have become the need of the hour as it gives them a proper shape and direction to learn on how to act or react during various difficult situations. Keeping this thought in mind a workshop on Moral Values. A way of life was conducted for scholarities of classes II-III as a part of Friday Activity. The workshop was organized to inculcate the good virtues among students such as honesty, respectfulness, hard work, love etc. It is important that these values are instilled right from the beginning in children’s thoughts, feelings and actions which apparently will function as ideals and standards that govern their actions in their life. The workshop was followed by a worksheet which students did in their class-rooms.

          Independence Day Patriotic Group Song Competition Grade IV-V

          “Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it”. To celebrate the feeling of patriotism, a patriotic group song comp” was organized for classes IV-V. The students were selected club- wise and the competition was held on August 9, 2019 on the main stage. The winners were-

          3rd Achievers

          The students enthusiastically participated and sing melodious songs. The atmosphere was filled with patriotism and pride for our country.

            Nature's Silhouette Activity Grade VI-VII
            A silhouette is the image of a person, animal, object or scene represented as a solid of a single color, usually black with its edges matching the outline of the subject. Silhouette making was an activity which was conducted for classes VI-VII in the Friday Activity period on 9th August’19.The students understood the beauty of the colors. The students created colorful silhouette of nature using their imaginative minds. This activity helped students to appreciate the beauty of nature and also cultivate their creative side and enhance their artistic skills.

              Kavita Gayan Pratiyogita Grade II-III

              “Poetry is the core of literature”.

              To spread the fragrance of poetry among the children of Classes II & III a Kavita Gayan Competition was organized on 9th August, 2019 in the school. Adhering the various aspects of poetry, the participants from all then sections of class 3 recited different poems on the theme ‘Patriotism’. Children were dressed according to their theme and used different props which enhanced their performances. Students’ enthusiasm while reciting the poetry was the reflection of their love and honor for the nation. Overall this competition was an apt platform for the students to showcase rhythm, expressions and modulation while enacting.

                Kavita Vachan Competition Grade VIII-IX

                By reciting poetry students are given the freedom to express feelings to their audience. It also helps to develop self-expression with the creativity of words and emotions. Keeping this is in mind Hindi Poem Recitation Competition on Patriotic songs were scheduled as Friday activity for classes VIII-IX. Students came up various expression style filled the atmosphere with  true feeling of patriotism.

                  Kite Flying Activity Grade IV-V

                  Leave aside our patriotic feelings, we all love our country. Scholarites were eagerly waiting for this day as it is known to be. The sky is filled with seemingly tiny, colorful quadrangles as children shouted “Aai-bo-kaate” (I got you) from school grounds as they attempted to bring down another groups’ kites by cutting its thread. To celebrate the festivals, a kite flying activity was organized where professional kite flyers from ‘Venus Kite Club’ visited our school. The activity was conducted on the school grounds. The students were guided about the dos and don’ts of kite flying. They did kite flying in groups and enjoyed the activity. The pleasant weather added to the importance and vibes of the festival. Each & every student actively participated and was enthusiastic. It was indeed a perfect way to enjoy the festivities.

                    Friendship Band Making Activity c

                    Friendship Day is that one special day during the year when you can let your friends know how special they are for you and how much you love them. Keeping this wonderful thought in mind, Scholarites celebrated Friendship Day by making Friendship Band on 2nd August, 2019 as a part of their Friday Activity. Teachers engaged students by talking about friendship bracelet and told them how special they are as a symbol of friendship. It was a fun activity which inspired children to create their best and write positive messages for their friends.

                      English Debate Competition Grade VI-VII

                      To sharpen the public speaking skills of the students and to teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts, an Inter-Club Debate Competition was held for Classes VI-VII on 2nd August ’19 in the Lecture Theater. The speakers from various clubs spoke eloquently on the topic- : “Is Tourism Beneficial for our Environment and Economic Growth of a Country”. The participants for both ‘for ‘and ‘against’ motion spoke and debated enthusiastically. The jury consisted of Ms Jyoti Kaushik (HOD- English) and Ms Aastha (TGT Political Science). The interjectors too played a valuable part by asking relevant interjectory questions. The positions bagged by the students are given below-

                        Investiture Ceremony Grade IX-XII

                        In order to scale the heights and reach the pinnacle of success, Scholars Global School, always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students with their heads held high, ready to shoulder responsibilities as leaders. Keeping in mind the same, the Investiture Ceremony of Scholars Global School for academic session 2019-20 was held with great zeal and zest in school’s auditorium. A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air as the Grand Ceremony commenced with the scintillating dance performance followed by the soulful rendition of the motivational song. A democratic procedure of selection was set in pace which ultimately formed the school student council of the year 2019-20. The newly appointed council members were adorned sashes and badges by Honorable M.D. Mr. Pradeep Dahiya, and Principal Mrs. Poonam Saxena. Ther Headboy, Headgirl, Sports Captains, Literary Captains, Cultural Captains, Club Captains and Vice Club Captains stood tall while holding the flags of Scholars Global School as destiny prepared itself to bring in many more laurels to the institution. Donning the mantle of accountability, the student council led by Headboy ‘Anirudh’ and Headgirl ‘Ameen’ also pledged to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities. The whole stage lit up with vibrant colors of the different flags and the event reinstated the faith in the caliber and leadership of the future generation, Ms Khushi Gulia (XI) and Ms. Shradha presented motivational talk and poem which enriched the students. The Principal, Mrs Poonam Saxena congratulated the students council and admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties to uphold the ethos and values of school.
