Poem Recitation Competition

Scholars Global School always provides the children the freedom of the expression of thoughts making them participates in various school activities. An Interclass poem recitation competition for classes 10th to 12th was organized on 27th July’18 on the theme ‘Respect towards Senior Citizens’. The participants exhibited their prowess in oratory skills and gave a tough competition to each other. Nikita Dhariwal from XII, laksh from XI and Veer from class X grabbed first positions in their respective categories, the event ended with a message to respect the senior citizen as they are a boon to society.

    Movie Time

    Rain played spoil sport, as the skating competition was postponed due to the weather condition. The students were given a treat of watching an educational award winning movie name’ my home is Green on 27th July’18 in their Friday Activity Period. The movie tells the poignant tale of two tiny creatures –an ant and a caterpillar; it showed the metamorphosis of a caterpillar the relationship which builds among the two characters. The movie time was enjoyed by the students and provided a refreshing break from daily studies.

      Summer Cooler Drinks Activity

      The students of class II-III learnt making a refreshing drink in their activity period on 27th July 2018. The students were shown how to make refreshing watermelon drink by their teachers. The students observed the procedure of making this drink. After making it, the students wrote the recipe of the drink in their recipe card, carefully writing the ingredients and the procedure. This activity helped them in learning the concept of sequencing.

        Story Writing-From Ant's perspective

        Change of perspective can change your whole life; it can either be for best or worst. In this workshop students were taught the importance of perspective and how they should not judge someone, until, they haven’t walked in their shoes. Then the students were shown a small video clip. After getting some basic tips about change of perspective, students wrote stories. This workshop was conducted for students of class VI-VII by Miss Kusha & Miss Sonia .

          Sudoku

          Sudoku Activity was organized for the students of class VI-VII in the last 2 periods. Sudoku is the Japanese abbreviation of a phrase meaning the digits must remain single. The students were given a Sudoku puzzle in which each horizontal row and each vertical column should contain each digit only once. The students actively participated in this brainstorming activity. Such activities stimulate the mind of students & improve their memory and logic work. Some students struggled while others solved them easily. But the end result of this activity was fruitful for all the students.

            Quilling Craft Activity

            Quilling is a creative craft wherein using strips of paper , a design is created. The students of class IV-V learnt the art of quilling in their Friday Activity which took place in their respective classrooms on 20th July 2018. The students were provided with colorful strips of paper ,which they rolled ,shaped ,glued it together to create decorative designs. Throughout the activity the students were engaged in creating amazing quilling craft. The outcome of which was commendable.

              Respecting ours and others space wokshop

              Class II-III had a workshop on Respecting Others and Our Space on 20th july 2018 in the A.V room. The workshop was conducted by Ms Shivani and Ms Japneet. The students were shown PPT in which many points were illustrated on importance of personal space, correct way to enter when adults are having conversation, proper etiquettes while having a conversation with others, and other helpful things. This workshop equipped the students with the proper conduct which they have to maintain while interacting with others. After the workshop the students did a worksheet to apply their learning from the workshop.

                Power Point Presentation Competition

                On 13th July 2018, power point presentation took place in last 2 periods. 4 students were selected from each section of class VI & VII representing their respective clubs. Students used their learnings and implemented them in ppt. presentations. In this competiton,Lakshay Gautam of class VI A secured 1 position. Puru of VI A, Jayant of VII B, Ashmit of VII C, they all secured II rank. Rishit of class VII A, attained III rank. Diksha of VIB & Deepanshi of VI D were given consolation prize for the same.

                  Newspaper Activity

                  On 13th July, Newspaper activity was conducted in the last 2 periods in classes VI-VII. After a hectic day, reading about the whereabouts of the world, enhanced students’ knowledge as well as relaxes their mind. It makes learning fun and also helps in inculcating reading habits amongst the students. Some of the teachers used newspaper for augmenting Grammar skills of student; some used it for exploring Geography, while others used it as Dictionary for enhancing vocabulary of students. Doing activities like Sudoku & puzzle etc., tickled the mind of students. It was an effort to nurture newspaper reading habit in students.

                    Idio-Melange

                    To enhance the expression with a figurative meaning and to amplify messages in a way that draws readers & awaken their senses, scholar conducted Idio-Melange activity for class VIII. An idiom bank consisting of idioms and phrases was given 2 weeks ago for preparation. This Friday, a test based activity sheet consisting of various types of Idiom-Phrases was given. Students engrossed themselves in the activity whole heartedly.

                      Doha Gaayan Competition

                      Dohas in hindi play an important role in providing a lyrical verse format and were extensively used by Indian poets like Kabir, Tulsidas and Rahim. These dohas have deep meanings in itself.  To make our students aware about Dohas and their meanings, the students of class IV-V had a Doha Gaayan Competition on 13th July 2018. The Selected students after the conduction of preliminary round, performed in the final round. They recited the dohas and explained its meaning. The judges of the competition were Ms Bhawna and Ms Madhvi from the Hindi Department. The students were poised and confident and recited the dohas expressively.

                        Show and Tell Competition

                        Class II-III had an interesting Show & Tell Competition on 13th July 2018 which was conducted in the auditorium. The students had to speak on the object ,they had in their hand. The students had interesting objects with them and spoke dauntlessly. The judges of the competition were Ms Aanchal and Ms Manali. This competition was aimed at enhancing students speaking skills, confidence and out of box thinking..

                          PPT Presentation

                          Powerpoint workshop was organized for selected students of class VI-VII in the last 2 periods on Friday 6th July. Inter-Club PPt making competition will be conducted on 13th July for which Miss Vinita and Ms Ritu, headed this workshop in order  to provide aid to the students participating in above mentioned competition. The students were shown a presentation on PPT making  & then some advanced techniques regarding animation were taught. Various queries of students were also addressed.

                            Club Meeting

                            Club Meet for classes VI-VIII was held on 6th July’18(Friday). Students of different clubs were made to sit with their respective club masters and teachers. Few things like Activities for the months of July was discussed and names of the students were noted for the activities. Students were motivated for active participation. Students got the vision and motivation for their duties and participation.

                              Workshop on Dialogue Writing

                              The students of class IV-V had a Dialogue Writing Workshop on 6th July 2018. The informative workshop was conducted by Ms Anjana and Ms Pausali in the Friday Activity periods in the A.V room. The students were informed about the different types of dialogues. They were also shown how to write dialogues and the structure of it. The PPT shown to the students contained all the features of dialogues. After the explanation, the students themselves wrote few lines by applying the structure which they learnt.

                                Welcome Back Business Cards Activity

                                The students of Class II-III made beautiful visiting cards on 6th July 2018 in their respective classes, in their Friday Activity Card. The Students were first informed about the purpose of visiting or business cards. After this the students followed the teachers instructions and made their own visiting cards with their names and decorating it. The students enjoyed this new activity of making visiting cards.
